Now with a button! (If it works) So, I am going to try and do a "link-up party" with this weeks Inspiration Thursday and possibly other Thursdays in the future. I want to see this grow in the blog world, so I hope you will take the time to write about what inspires you and to link it back up here!
What inspires me today(and always!) are my kids at the preschool where I work. We have a summer program and it is ending this week and the new school year is beginning next week. A lot of my kids are leaving to go to different kindergartens and to first grade and my heart is so full of sadness and happiness at the same time.
At church on Sunday the message was on having a childlike faith. Which doesn't mean acting childish, but really coming to God with the awestruck wonder children have. We also talked about how we are not to make people(or children who are in awestruck wonder of our God) stumble and fall. I took this as a total burden and inspiration and conviction all at the same time. I work with children EVERYDAY! Everyday, I have the opportunity to tell these beautiful children about our amazing Jesus OR to crush their spirit and make them stumble. Clearly, I choose to encourage, love, help, and to teach! However, so often as believers we don't encourage, love, help, or teach. I am no different.
"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me; but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea." ~Matthew 18: 1-6
These verses, my faith in Jesus, my passion to further His kingdom, my love for the children that He loves inspires me to make a difference. To not bring children (and people) to a crashing stumble to the ground, but to lift them up in love, encouragement, teaching, and to experience the kind of awestruck amazing love and faith they have in our wonderful worthy God!
